Potty training April 6, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — collavoce @ 10:54 pm

I am in need of potty training suggestions, from the very beginning.  I think Caleb is ready to start trying, and I have heard many suggestions, but I am not sure what would be a good way to start the “project.”  Anyone have any ideas?

Oh, and for a kitchen update, Josh got the ceiling and wall sheetrocked above the cabinets, and scraped the ceiling.  After he muds the patch work, he has to respray the ceiling, and then it will be my turn to take over.  I did start staining my end tables, but it will take many coats to get them like I really like them.

Sorry, this post is kinda boring.  My brain isn’t functioning too well right now.

I used potty training rewards. The audio and chocolate treats were powerful incentives to fully potty train our son. He loved pushing the button hearing he is a Big Boy and opening a door to find a chocolate. He was peeing and pooping in his potty within a week. I know every child is different, but have a look and see if this would work for you. http://www.pottytrainingrewards.com

As your wise, wise (ok, not so wise) oldest very-experienced sister, I’ll tell you each one of my boys was different. I started the same with each but adapted as needed. One thing I did consistently was not use pull-ups. All three hated being wet in underwear and I think that helps speed up the process . . . although it makes a bit more clean up for you! Call me if you want specifics. I kinda go at it with an all-nothing-attitude!
